CKP Recipe – Kolambiche Kalvan – Garam Masala Prawns Curry


Namaskar, I am Sushama and today, i am going to demonstrate to you Prawns curry using garam masala Ingredients required 2 portions of Prawns cleaned and washed 1 bowl roasted dry coconut shredded 1 onion cut and roasted Turmeric powder – Half tsp Red Chilly powder – 2 tsp 1 tsp Garam Masala Salt as per taste Garlic petals 4 to 5 cut into small pieces Garlic paste 1 tsp 1 Onion finely cut Aamsul(Kokum) – 2 nos Half tsp Ginger paste Green Chilly – Coriander paste 1 tsp Coriander for garnishing Now let us apply masala to the prawns Half tsp Turmeric powder 2 tsp Red Chilly powder 1 tsp Garam Masala 1 tsp Garlic paste 1 tsp Green Chilly-Coriander paste Half tsp Ginger paste Salt as per taste Now let us apply this masala to the prawns let us apply it and let the prawns marinate for 30 mins Now we have applied the masala let us marinate it for 30 mins Now let us take the roasted coconut and onion and dice it in the mixer we are going to dice it fine This is what we call -“Tal-la masala” or “Fried Masala” Non-CKP people may not know about this that is why i have shown this preparation Now we have kept the pan for heating and added 1 tablespoon of Oil Once the oil heats up we will add the garlic pieces 4 to 5 garlic petals cut into small pieces You must have seen – “Dried prawns curry” on my Channel we prepare prawns curry in a similar way This is prepared in Black masala similar to Crab curry same style we prepare the prawns curry Which is what i am showing you today Now the garlic has turned reddish Now let us fry the prawns Now we are going to add Onion to this and we will fry the onion along with the prawns now let us lower the gas flame and for 2 mins we will keep the lid on the pan Now let us remove the lid Onion and Prawns are both cooked We will take the onion-coconut ground paste we will now add the “Fried Masala” and mix and fry this again Let us fry the onion-coconut paste Now the onion-coconut paste is fried now we will add 1 bowl of water to the mixer jar let us take the water and 1 more bowl – total 2 bowls of water now we have added 2 bowls of water we will add 2 pieces of Aamsul(Kokum) and boil this well and keep the lid on the pan Now the curry has boiled nicely Now let us garnish it with coriander and move it to the serving bowl To view such traditional CKP recipes Please do subscribe to my channel.
